Camp 21 Comrie, also known as Cultybraggan Camp, is the best preserved high security WW2 prisoner of war camp in the UK. Nestled beneath the rugged Highland Perthshire hills, it held some of the most hard-line Nazis captured during the Second World War. Including Waffen SS soldiers and at one point housed Hitler’s deputy Rudolf Hess. At its height, the site was home to 4,000 Germans PoWs. The camp also boasts it own ‘Great Escape’, and a murder or two.
Bring history to life and enjoy a new storyboard heritage trail and installations including the refurbished jail block, church and a recreation of prisoner accommodation in one of the 100ft long huts. Engage all the senses with practical hands on skills sessions. Helping to cement learning and develop life skills for young minds.
