SOE Assassination: Operations Anthropoid and Foxley
The assassination of SS-Obergruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich, one of the most powerful figures in the Nazi regime, in Prague in 1942 sent shockwaves through occupied Europe. Codenamed Operation Anthropoid, this dangerous SOE mission was carried out by Czechoslovak operatives Jan Kubiš and Josef Gabčík. Their mission was true to Winston Churchill’s wish for SOE to 'set Europe ablaze'.
Could the Second World War have finished early? Operation Foxley was a Top Secret SOE plan to assassinate Adolf Hitler deep in his mountain retreat in the Bavarian Alps. Whilst other events meant that the plan was never executed, could it have worked?
Shaping the course of the war, the plans, and operations to kill Heydrich and Hitler were both dramatic and significant. We believe there is no better way to examine these historic events than walking the actual ground.
Join us as we retrace SOE’s steps in historic Prague and the picturesque alpine trails of the Bavarian Alps to Hitlers famous retreat the, Eagles Nest.
Following in the footsteps of Operation Anthropoid and Foxley we will also be visiting historical WW2 museums and retracing famous SOE routes.
You will also have the opportunity to fire a variety of authentic WW2 weapons.
